Meet the Team
Anneliese Braunegg
Amartya Chakraborty
Amartya Chakraborty is a Data Scientist at The MITRE Corporation with a detailed interest in Deep Learning.
Michael Krumdick
Nicole Lape
Nicole Lape is a machine learning engineer at MITRE specializing in computer vision, with a background in electrical and computer engineering. She loves all things space related, and you can probably detect her looking at cool galaxy pictures with high confidence.
Sara Leary
Sara Leary is a machine learning engineer at MITRE who is interested in color science and environmental sustainability. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, listening to Hamilton, and mercilessly beating everyone in Mario Kart, no ML models needed.
Keith Manville
Keith is a computer vision researcher at MITRE. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and a MS in Computer Science from George Mason University. In his free time he likes to read, travel, and hang out with his dogs.
Elizabeth Merkhofer
Liz Merkhofer is a lead computational linguist at the MITRE Corporation, where she focuses on neural models/deep learning and an adjunct professor for Georgetown’s data analytics program. Her work especially focuses on representation and transfer learning, for applications ranging from monitoring mental health-related messages in social media, judicial adjudication support, textual similarity, and content-based recommendation. She holds a BA in Philosophy and Spanish from the University of Arizona and an MA in Linguistics from Georgetown University.
Laura Strickhart
Laura Strickhart is an artificial intelligence engineer at MITRE whose research interests include machine learning for images, sound, and video.
Matthew Walmer
Matthew Walmer is a computer scientist at the MITRE Corporation who is also pursuing a PhD in Computer Vision at the University of Maryland College Park. He previously completed a BS and MSE in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, and he’s now interested in applying machine learning to study human visual processing.
